Scripture, in context

Understand the verse. Start a conversation.

Two quiet tools from Joshua D’Alessio: a Bible study app for the phone in your hand, and a YouTube channel that stays with the passage instead of pulling a line out of it.

Android · closed testing iOS in progress Berean Standard Bible

Read the Berean Standard Bible offline. Keep notes on a verse or a whole chapter, and mark the words you want to come back to. Follow Bible in a Year, or open today’s passage. When a chapter has a longer explanation, the app points you to it.

For someone leading a group, Plus adds study sheets, discussion questions, and optional groups. Reading stays free. Notes stay on your phone.

YouTube channel

Between the Verses

Scripture, explained in the passage it belongs to.

Long explainers Shorts

Between the Verses is the teaching channel beside the app: longer videos that walk a chapter in context, and Shorts for a smaller window into the same work. The app’s “Watch explanation” row uses the longs, not the Shorts.

These three longs are the ones published in btv-longs.json. The pictures are the thumbnails on those videos. More will show up here as they are added to that map.

Shorts live on the same channel. Individual Short URLs are not listed in the repo, so this page does not invent them.

About

We walk with people.

Josh and Abby D’Alessio built After the Verse so someone could understand Scripture more deeply and know Jesus more closely. Every other feature serves that. Between the Verses is the same aim, said out loud.

If the work helps you, use it, share it with someone, and say what would make it better. The hope is to license more translations over time. The Bible text in the app today is the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain. Study notes are original.

All glory belongs to God.
